(Frostburg, MD) The 2nd Annual Pig Out in the Park: Backyard BBQ Bash will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hoffman Hollow Park, located at 11200 Hoffman Hollow Road in Frostburg, MD. Join us for a fun-filled day of live music, a beer tent, a pie-eating contest, kid zone and family-friendly activities, local artist and food vendors, and a backyard BBQ competition!
Pig Out in the Park, a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned backyard barbecue competition, offers local and non-local BBQ competition teams the chance to go down in Backyard BBQ history! Last year, winners received over $1,500 in cash prizes! This year’s event will include a people’s-choice competition category to let the crowd decide whose BBQ reigns supreme!
In addition to the heat of the competition, Pig Out in the Park will feature mechanical bull riding, a chainsaw carving demonstration, and food and artisan vendors from the Frostburg area. Bands will be playing live music all day, including Savage Road and Day-Old News.
All proceeds from Pig Out in the Park benefit the non-profit organization FrostburgFirst: a Maryland Main Street Community, Inc., and efforts towards downtown revitalization, promoting small business, engaging the community, and making Frostburg a beautiful and thriving city to live, work, and visit.
Pig Out in the Park is currently accepting applications for vendors and competitors through July 19th. Tickets are available for online pre-sale at $8 for general admission or $12 with a barbecue tasting kit. Tickets at the door are $10 for general admission and $15 with the tasting kit.
