Enjoy your holiday weekend and try not to blow anything up that isn’t supposed to go boom n’at. We have 3 events this weekend including the inaugural Rusty Gold Rib Cookoff on the 4th of July. As always if you have an event coming up send your suggestions via the contact form on our site.
What are yinz eatin? Pork & Beans
I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Pork & Beans and this past week when I stopped to check out the lunch menu it was on the love side. The image above is their brisket sammy and burnt ends beans. Brisket, whole grain mustard, green tomato salsa verde, pickled fennel, cherry peppers, dill, half sours. Service was FAST and the meal was top notch.
BBQ Central Show features local steak champ
First Angel from team Comin’ In Hot wins the $1000 prize at Chillin’ & Grillin’ on E-Street and the following week she’s featured on the really big BBQ show… The BBQ Central Show. Angel’s professionalism and dedication to her craft left a great impression on BBQ fans that still had them talking this week. This is the future of live fire cooking.
Get certified as a Steak Cookoff Association Judge

The class includes Ribeye 101, Table Captain 101, Ancillary Judging 101, and Steak Judging 101. Oh, and did I mention that there will be plenty of steaks to eat?
Completion of this course will certify you to judge any SCA event in the country. If you’re interested sign up at steakcookoffs.com.
Expanding BBQ Map to Western PA
Due to high demand, I’m working on expanding the Greater Pittsburgh BBQ Map to cover Western PA. We’re currently sitting at 66 BBQ joints and food trucks in our area and based off early submissions the WPA map will grow to over 80. Crazy right? I need your help to grow this to be the most comprehensive listing for BBQ fans in and visiting our state. Send your suggestions via the contact form on our site or even better JOIN OUR NEW FACEBOOK GROUP which has been hopping with breaking BBQ news!
